About AJ Eisenberg Airport
AJ Eisenberg Airport is a small public-use general aviation airport on Whidbey Island, Washington, serving Oak Harbor and the surrounding Island County area. Opened in September 1964, the facility has also been known as Wes Lupien Airport and is now operated as DeLaurentis International Airport at Oak Harbor.
The airport sits about three miles southwest of central Oak Harbor and functions primarily as a gateway for private, charter and air ambulance flights, with customs landing rights allowing international arrivals by prior arrangement. Its single asphalt runway, designated 7/25, measures about 3,265 feet and is supported by an FBO, fuel services, hangars and tiedown parking.
Historically, the airport was a base for scheduled and charter air service linking the island with the San Juan Islands and the Seattle area. After changing ownership and names over the years, it was purchased by aviator Robert DeLaurentis in July 2023 and has undergone a program of renovations to improve the runway, buildings and facilities.
Visitors can reach Oak Harbor, Coupeville and other Whidbey Island destinations by taxi, private transfer, rental car or pre-arranged ground transportation, with the ferry and road network providing onward connections to the wider Puget Sound region.
