About Aberdeen Regional Airport
Aberdeen Regional Airport is a city-owned, public-use airport serving Aberdeen and the surrounding northeastern South Dakota region. It provides essential air service for the area, with SkyWest operating daily Delta Connection flights between Aberdeen and Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport.
Located about four miles east of downtown Aberdeen, the airport traces its local aviation roots back to 1921, when the first municipal airport in South Dakota was established. The present site opened after a 1930 bond issue, and the airport was renamed Saunders Field in 1946 before becoming Aberdeen Regional Airport in 1979.
The compact terminal building offers a simple passenger experience with check-in, TSA screening, three departure gates, and baggage claim in one place.
