Abéché Airport (AEH)

Abéché Airport is the main airport serving Abéché, the capital of the Ouaddaï Region in eastern Chad. It supports domestic connections and limited international arrivals, functioning as an important secondary gateway for the region alongside the capital's main airport.

The airport has one asphalt runway designated 09/27, measuring approximately 2,800 metres, and sits at an elevation of about 545 metres above sea level. A single compact passenger terminal handles check-in, security, arrivals and basic passenger services for both domestic and international flights.

Located roughly 2–3 km from central Abéché, the airport is usually reached by taxi or pre-arranged road transport. There is no rail or metro connection and no scheduled public bus service, so arranging transport in advance is the most practical option.

Facilities at the airport are limited, with basic local food and shopping options available. Travellers should confirm flight schedules in advance, carry local currency and be prepared for a simple regional airport experience.
