Trinity

Trinity is one of Jersey's twelve historic parishes, a quiet rural stretch of granite farmhouses, winding green lanes and sea views toward the north coast. Its medieval church, manor houses and cliff paths give the parish a slow, unhurried character that contrasts with the bustle of nearby St Helier.

About Trinity

Trinity is one of Jersey's twelve parishes, occupying the north-east of the island and widely regarded as its most rural parish. Green lanes, hedgerows, farmland and quiet coastal scenery give it a peaceful character in contrast to the busier capital of St Helier, around 5.8 kilometres to the south. The parish reaches Jersey's highest point at Les Platons and meets the north coast at Bouley Bay.

The parish's built heritage centres on the medieval granite Parish Church of the Holy Trinity, a landmark whose records and churchyard reflect centuries of island history. At Bouley Bay, a small harbour and beach sit beneath wooded cliffs and are overlooked by the 19th-century Fort Leicester, while old farmsteads and narrow lanes preserve the traditional rural setting.

Trinity is best known for Jersey Zoo at Les Augrès Manor, founded by Gerald Durrell and operated by the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, one of the island's leading family attractions. Nearby, the Pallot Steam, Motor and General Museum and the Eric Young Orchid Foundation add further reasons to visit, and footpaths and coastal routes connect viewpoints, woodlands and cliff scenery.

Although predominantly rural, Trinity lies close to St Helier and Jersey's financial, conference and event infrastructure, making it a convenient countryside base for both leisure and business travellers. The Royal Jersey Showground, used for the island's agricultural show and other events, sits within the parish, and Jersey Airport is roughly a 20-minute drive away.
