About Yorkton Municipal Airport
Yorkton Municipal Airport is the main airport serving Yorkton, a city in east-central Saskatchewan, Canada. It is a municipally operated facility that primarily handles general aviation, charter, corporate and medevac traffic, including air ambulance operations that serve the region.
Located about 5 km north of downtown Yorkton, the airport has two runways: an asphalt runway and a shorter gravel/asphalt runway. It does not offer scheduled commercial airline service, so most passenger movements are private, charter or emergency flights.
The airport opened a new terminal building, the Popowich Terminal, in 2025. The compact facility includes a pilot lounge, reception area, office spaces and public washrooms, improving comfort for passengers and crews.
Yorkton Municipal Airport is reached by road from the city centre, with journeys by car, taxi, private transfer or rental vehicle typically taking around 10 to 15 minutes. Its location makes it a practical access point for Yorkton and surrounding communities in the region.
