About Yarmouth Airport
Yarmouth Airport is a public aerodrome serving the town of Yarmouth and southwestern Nova Scotia. The site was established in 1936 and used during the Second World War as part of the British Commonwealth Air Training Program before being converted to public use.
Located about 2.5 km from the town centre, the airport operates from a compact terminal building and two asphalt runways. It mainly supports general aviation, private and charter flights, corporate aircraft, medical evacuations and other non-scheduled operations.
The airport sits close to access points for Highways 101 and 103, and downtown Yarmouth is only a short taxi or private transfer ride away. Car rental and pre-arranged ground transportation provide onward travel around southwestern Nova Scotia.
Passenger facilities are modest and include long-term parking, a terminal building and aviation support services such as fuel and de-icing. As an airport of entry, customs and immigration can be arranged for international arrivals.
