Walkers Cay Airport (WKR)

Walkers Cay Airport is a small private island airstrip serving Walker's Cay, the northernmost island in the Bahamas and part of the North Abaco district. The island was first developed in the 1930s with a small hotel, a 75-slip marina and an airstrip, establishing it as a sport-fishing destination in the northern Bahamas.

The airport operates a single runway of about 2,500 feet suited to light aircraft and private charter flights, with no regular scheduled commercial service. Customs and immigration are handled on the island, allowing private and charter arrivals from the United States and other Bahamian islands.

Located on the island itself, the airstrip sits close to the marina and resort area. Onward travel is mostly by resort vehicle, marina transport, private boat or connecting flight, with the nearest major settlement at Freeport on Grand Bahama roughly 86 km to the southwest.

Facilities remain limited to the essentials for private aviation, including aircraft parking and basic island ground transport. The airport functions as a practical access point for anglers, yachting visitors and private groups heading to Walker's Cay and the northern Abaco cays.
