Its runway was inaugurated in 1953, and the airport has grown steadily since, with the modern Hall D terminal opening in 2010 to support international and long-haul traffic.
Located about 8 km northwest of central Toulouse in Blagnac, the airport connects the city and surrounding area with domestic and European destinations as well as selected long-haul routes. A single passenger terminal is organized into four halls: A, B, C and D, each with its own check-in desks and gates for different flight types.
The airport is linked to Toulouse by the T2 tram line, an airport shuttle serving Toulouse-Matabiau station and the city centre, taxis, buses and road connections. The tram and shuttle typically reach the centre in around 20 to 40 minutes, depending on the route and traffic.
