About Tetebedi Airport
Tetebedi Airport is a small, remote grass airstrip in Papua New Guinea's Oro Province, serving the village of Tetebedi and nearby highland communities. It functions primarily as a lifeline connection for isolated areas where walking paths are the main form of ground transport.
The airstrip sits at around 1,020 metres above sea level and has a single short grass runway designated 01/19, measuring about 565 metres. It handles only small aircraft, with operations coordinated through the Port Moresby Flight Information Region and used mainly by mission aviation groups for medical evacuations, supply deliveries and essential transport.
Located roughly 48 km from Popondetta, the provincial capital, and about 100 km from Port Moresby, the airport has no scheduled commercial service and no direct road link suitable for general ground transfers. Access is generally by charter or humanitarian flights, with onward travel continuing by air or on foot.
Facilities are minimal, with no terminal building, fuel supply, shops or cafés, so travellers should plan carefully and bring their own supplies. Despite its basic infrastructure, the strip remains an important link for the region's remote communities.

Terminal Overview
