Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées Airport (LDE)

Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées Airport is the main air gateway to Lourdes, Tarbes and the Hautes-Pyrénées department in south-western France. The airport developed around Lourdes pilgrimage traffic and now handles scheduled European flights alongside seasonal charter services. Its terminal was rebuilt and inaugurated in 1999, and the site traces its civil aviation history back to 1948.

Located in the commune of Ossun between Tarbes and Lourdes, the airport sits roughly 10 km from Lourdes and about 10–12 km from central Tarbes. It operates a single commercial terminal with arrivals on the ground floor and departures on the level above, plus a 3,000-metre runway. A separate business terminal, opened in 2011, serves private and business aviation.

Road access is straightforward via the A64 motorway and the RN21, and bus services connect the airport with Tarbes and Lourdes, including a dedicated shuttle to Lourdes town centre. Taxis, private transfers and car rental desks are available at the arrivals level for onward journeys.

Passengers benefit from compact, easy-to-navigate facilities, including free Wi-Fi, a duty-free shop, dining options, a chapel and luggage services. The airport is also a practical starting point for reaching Pyrenees ski resorts and other destinations across the region.
