About Bromma Stockholm Airport
Bromma Stockholm Airport is a compact city airport serving Stockholm and the surrounding region. Opened in 1936 by King Gustav V, it was the first airport in Europe with paved runways from the start and remains one of the city's most convenient air gateways.
Located in the Bromma district, roughly 8–10 km from central Stockholm, the airport now focuses primarily on private and business aviation along with selected regional flights. Its single terminal keeps passenger flows short and simple, with check-in, security, arrivals and facilities close together.
The airport is reached from central Stockholm by airport coach, local bus, taxi, private transfer and road links, with travel times to the city centre typically around 15–20 minutes depending on traffic.
Operated by Swedavia, Bromma provides a practical alternative for travelers needing fast access to Stockholm's business districts, nearby residential areas and onward destinations across the region.
