About Sir Gaëtan Duval Airport
Sir Gaëtan Duval Airport is the only airport serving Rodrigues, an autonomous outer island of the Republic of Mauritius. Opened in 1972, the airport provides the island's regular air link with Mauritius and handles the domestic flights operated mainly by Air Mauritius.
Located near Plaine Corail in the southwestern part of the island, the airport is about 18 km from the capital Port Mathurin. Its compact single terminal and 1,286-metre runway support turboprop aircraft services, with flights to and from Mauritius taking roughly 90 minutes.
After landing, passengers can continue by taxi, airport shuttle bus, public bus, pre-arranged hotel transfers or rental car. The public bus stand sits a short walk from the terminal, and hotel pickups are common across the island.
