About Saint-Yan Airport
Saint-Yan Airport, also known as Charolais Bourgogne Sud Airport, is a public airfield serving the Charolais area in the Saône-et-Loire department of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. Created in 1938, it developed after the Second World War into a dedicated centre for civil aviation pilot training.
The airport is best known for hosting an ENAC campus, formerly SEFA, that trains airline pilots with students from France and abroad. The platform covers 272 hectares and has three runways, two of them paved and rebuilt in 2021, along with controlled airspace and modern navigation aids.
Located about 1 km west of Saint-Yan and around 10 km from Paray-le-Monial, the airport is reached mainly by road, with taxis available from the terminal and car rental nearby. It also supports general aviation, occasional passenger and freight flights, and Air Force training movements.
On-site facilities include a terminal, crew rest area, fuel services, and an ENAC campus with accommodation, a cafeteria restaurant and a gym, making the airport a practical base for aviation activity in the region.
