About Rigolet Airport
Rigolet Airport (YRG) is the small public airport serving Rigolet, a remote Inuit community on the Labrador coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The airport provides essential year-round air access for a community that has no road connection to the rest of the province.
The airport has a single small terminal and a gravel runway measuring about 2,500 feet (762 metres). PAL Airlines operates scheduled flights linking Rigolet with Happy Valley-Goose Bay and Makkovik, using small turboprop aircraft suited to short, remote routes.
Located adjacent to the community, the airport is roughly 2 km (about 1 mile) from central Rigolet, a drive of only a few minutes. Because the area is roadless, arriving by air is the main year-round option, alongside seasonal ferry and winter snowmobile routes.
Facilities at the airport are basic, reflecting its role as a lifeline for supplies, medical travel and regional connectivity rather than a large commercial hub. Passengers should confirm flight schedules and arrange transport in advance when travelling through YRG.
