About Portorož Airport
Portorož Airport is a small international airport on the Slovenian coast, located near the village of Sečovlje and around 6 km south of central Portorož. It is the third international airport in Slovenia and sits only a few hundred metres from the Croatian border, giving it a useful position for visitors travelling to Slovenian Istria.
The airport was opened in 1962 and today serves mainly general aviation, private and business flights, with a 1,200-metre asphalt runway and a single compact passenger terminal. Its coastal location places it close to Portorož, Piran and the Sečovlje Salt Pans Nature Park.
The terminal offers basic passenger services including a restaurant with a terrace, café, shop, post office, Wi-Fi and parking. Ground transport to Portorož and Piran is available by taxi, private transfer or rental car, and the airport is reachable by road from nearby towns.
