Pincher Creek Airport (WPC)

Pincher Creek Airport is a publicly owned general aviation airport serving Pincher Creek, the Municipal District of Pincher Creek No. 9 and southwestern Alberta. It is operated by the Municipal District of Pincher Creek and functions mainly as a base for private, charter, air ambulance and other general aviation activity rather than scheduled airline service. The airport is located about 5.6 km (3.5 mi) northwest of Pincher Creek town centre. It has a single paved runway, Runway 08/26, approximately 6,597 feet (2,011 m) long, making it one of the longer runways among regional airports in the area and suitable for a range of light aircraft and private jets. Its location near the eastern slopes of the Canadian Rockies makes it a convenient gateway for visitors heading to Waterton Lakes National Park, Castle Mountain Resort and the Crowsnest Pass region, as well as for travel across southern Alberta toward Lethbridge and Calgary. Ground transportation is primarily by private vehicle, taxi or pre-arranged transfer from Pincher Creek, where food, accommodations, fuel and other services are available. The small terminal building provides basic passenger facilities, and aviation fuel including 100LL and Jet A is offered on site.
