About Parakou Airport
Parakou Airport is a small public-use airport serving Parakou, the largest city in northern Benin and the capital of the Borgou department. It functions primarily as a domestic gateway, connecting the region to Cotonou and supporting travel within Benin.
Located about 1 km northwest of central Parakou, the airport has a single runway and a small passenger terminal. Its compact layout makes it easy to reach by road, and the short distance to the city centre allows quick onward travel.
The airport is a regional airfield rather than a large international hub, so passenger services and amenities remain limited. A new airport, Tourou International Airport, has been developed near Tankaro about 10 km northwest of Parakou and is intended to expand the region's air links.
Travelers arriving at Parakou Airport can continue into the city by taxi or moto-taxi, with road connections available to destinations across the Borgou region.
