Paraitepuy Airstrip (PPH)

Paraitepuy Airstrip is a small airfield in Bolívar State that mainly supports light aircraft and charter operations serving the village of Paraitepuy and the surrounding Gran Sabana. Its role is strongly tied to Mount Roraima, one of the most visited tepuis in Canaima National Park, whose trek begins near the village.

It lies in a remote area approximately 100 km from Santa Elena de Uairén, the nearest sizeable town, with access by unpaved roads that are normally covered by 4x4 vehicles. Because the airstrip is not a large commercial airport, arrivals are usually arranged in advance, often as part of trekking tours or private charters.

The field has grass runways suited to light aircraft and does not offer the terminal infrastructure of a city airport. Passengers should expect basic facilities and arrange onward ground transport before arrival.

Despite its simplicity, the airstrip functions as a practical entry point for travelers heading to Roraima and nearby Pemón communities, linking a remote trailhead area with wider regional transport routes.
