Pakokku Airport is a small airport serving Pakokku town and the surrounding Magway Region in central Myanmar. It lies about 11 km north of Pakokku and has a single asphalt/concrete runway measuring 2,591 metres by 30 metres, capable of handling medium-sized aircraft such as the Embraer E190 and Boeing 717.
The airport is managed by the Department of Civil Aviation and currently handles limited domestic and chartered flights. Because of its central location and proximity to Bagan, a UNESCO World Heritage site, authorities have proposed upgrading Pakokku Airport to international status as an alternative gateway to the Bagan archaeological area.
Passenger facilities at the airport are limited, with hotels, restaurants and medical services located mainly in Pakokku town. Travellers typically continue by road to Pakokku or onward to Bagan and other destinations in central Myanmar.
