Pajala Airport is a small regional airport serving the town of Pajala and the surrounding Torne Valley in Norrbotten County, northern Sweden. Opened in 1999, it is one of Sweden’s youngest airports and provides scheduled domestic links together with seasonal charter services.
The airport lies approximately 15 kilometres west of Pajala and close to the Finnish border, making it a useful access point for Swedish Lapland and nearby destinations such as Ylläs and Kolari. Its single asphalt runway was extended to 2,300 metres in 2007, allowing larger aircraft to operate.
Passenger services use one compact terminal building, which has been upgraded with a newer arrivals hall and improved departure facilities. The airport mainly handles the scheduled Pajala–Luleå route alongside seasonal Christmas charters from the UK.
