About Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport
Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport is the second-busiest international airport in North Macedonia and the main air gateway to Ohrid, Lake Ohrid and the surrounding south-western region. Opened in 1952, the airport has been operated by TAV Airports since 2010 and serves a mix of leisure and regional travellers.
Located about 9 km northwest of Ohrid city centre, the airport provides seasonal and year-round connections to destinations across Europe and beyond. It operates from a single passenger terminal with one runway and compact but functional facilities for check-in, security, arrivals and departures.
Ground access relies mainly on road transport, with taxis, private transfers, car rental and a public bus shuttle serving the city and lakeside areas; there is no rail connection at the airport.
A reconstruction and modernisation programme completed in recent years expanded the check-in, security and baggage areas and added a new duty-free shop, helping the airport handle growing passenger numbers more efficiently.
