About Ogeranang Airport
Ogeranang Airport is a small, remote airstrip in the Saruwaged Range of the Huon Peninsula, in Papua New Guinea's Morobe Province. The airstrip was established in 1975 and serves the Ogeranang community and surrounding highland villages of the Finschhafen District.
Located at an elevation of about 1,783 metres, the airport has a single grass runway and a basic sheltered terminal used mainly for domestic charter and missionary flights. Because there is no road link to Lae, the airstrip is an essential lifeline for the area, supporting medical evacuations and the delivery of goods, supplies and mail.
