About Negage Airport
Negage Airport is the main air gateway for the town of Negage and the wider Uíge Province in northern Angola. The airport began as a Portuguese military airbase, inaugurated on 7 February 1961 as Aeródromo-Base nº 3, and today operates as a joint civil and military airfield.
Located close to Negage town and about 30 km from the city of Uíge, the airport mainly handles domestic flights, including connections to Luanda. Its single passenger terminal and 2,400-metre asphalt runway support light commercial and general aviation traffic.
Road links connect the airport to Negage town, Uíge city and surrounding municipalities, with taxis, private transfers and rental cars offering onward travel options. There is no rail link at the airport.
Despite its compact size, the airport provides essential air access for business, government and community travel across the region, with basic passenger services available in the terminal.
