About Nadunumu Airport
Nadunumu Airport is a small domestic airstrip serving Nadunumu and the surrounding Koiari communities in Central Province, Papua New Guinea. Sitting at an elevation of about 1,544 metres, it operates mainly as an access point for trekkers on the Kokoda Track and for local charter flights.
The airport is located approximately 60 km northeast of Port Moresby and has a single runway, 05/23, of about 415 metres, without lighting. Because of its remote position and weather, flights generally operate during daylight hours and rely on small aircraft.
There is no road link from Port Moresby to the airstrip, so travelers usually arrive by small plane or charter from Port Moresby or Kokoda and continue on foot along the track. Facilities at the airport are limited to a basic terminal and apron, with onward arrangements typically handled through trekking operators.
