Mopah International Airport is the main air gateway serving Merauke and the South Papua region in eastern Indonesia. The airport supports domestic passenger travel and plays an important role in connecting this remote border area with other parts of the country.
Located approximately 3 km from central Merauke, the airport is quick to reach by taxi, private transfer or local road transport. Its passenger terminal was significantly upgraded, with the modern terminal complex inaugurated in 2021 and designed to handle around 638,000 passengers per year.
The airport provides domestic connections and holds international status, although scheduled international services are not currently operated on a regular basis. It shares part of the site with Johannes Abraham Dimara Air Force Base.
