About Mayo Airport
Mayo Airport is a small public airport serving Mayo, Yukon, and the surrounding Silver Trail region. It supports regional travel, charter flights, medevac operations, and government and forestry aviation activity in central Yukon.
The airport sits about 3 km north of Mayo, near the confluence of the Mayo and Stewart rivers, and roughly 400 km north of Whitehorse by road. It gives travelers an entry point to the Silver Trail communities and the surrounding northern wilderness.
The airfield has a single gravel runway, designated 07/25, approximately 1,476 metres long and 30 metres wide, together with an air terminal building. Air North previously operated scheduled service between Whitehorse and Mayo.
Road access links the airport to Mayo and the Silver Trail Highway, with onward driving to Stewart Crossing, Keno City, Dawson City, and Whitehorse. Travelers should note that the terminal has no food services, so it is worth planning meals and supplies before using this small northern gateway.
