About Maryse Condé International Airport
Maryse Condé International Airport is the main international gateway to Guadeloupe, serving the capital region around Pointe-à-Pitre and the wider French Caribbean archipelago. It handles long-haul flights from Europe, North America and the Caribbean, as well as inter-island connections to Marie-Galante, Les Saintes and La Désirade.
Located in Les Abymes on Grande-Terre, about 3 km north of Pointe-à-Pitre, the airport opened its current terminal complex in 1996 and was renamed in 2024 in honour of the Guadeloupean writer Maryse Condé. Two passenger terminals handle international and regional traffic.
The airport is connected to Pointe-à-Pitre and resort areas such as Le Gosier, Sainte-Anne and Saint-François by taxi, car rental, hotel shuttles and pre-booked private transfers; public minibuses run along the main road but are less practical with luggage.
