About Marshall Islands International Airport

Marshall Islands International Airport, also known as Amata Kabua International Airport, is the main gateway to Majuro and the only public international airport in the Republic of the Marshall Islands. It serves as the country's primary hub for air travel, with Air Marshall Islands operating domestic routes and United Airlines and Nauru Airlines providing international connections across the Pacific.

The airport's current terminal structure and modern runway were built in 1971. Located on the south side of Majuro Atoll in the western part of Rairok, it sits roughly 11 km (7 mi) southwest of central Majuro and is named after Amata Kabua, the first president of the Marshall Islands.

Passengers arrive and depart through a single terminal that handles both domestic and international flights. Facilities are compact, including a small café, a gift shop, limited Wi-Fi and basic first aid services, with taxis available outside the terminal for onward travel.

The airport is connected to Majuro by the atoll's main road, and taxis, private transfers and rental cars provide the main options for reaching the city centre, hotels and other destinations across the atoll.
