About Mangole Falabisahaya Airport
Falabisahaya Airport (MAL) is a small domestic airport on the north coast of Mangole Island, part of the Sula Islands Regency in North Maluku, Indonesia. It serves Falabisahaya, the main settlement of Mangole Utara district, and provides an air link for the island's residents and businesses.
The airfield is also known as Dofa Benjina and was originally developed by local plywood company PT Sumber Graha Maluku (SGM) Group before being opened for public pioneer flights in early 2020. Scheduled service began on the Ternate–Falabisahaya route, which now operates about twice a week.
The airport has a single runway, 11/29, of about 1,100 metres, and a compact terminal handling domestic flights. The flight to Ternate, the provincial capital, takes around one and a half hours and connects onward to other parts of North Maluku and Indonesia.
Falabisahaya is also served by ferries that call at Sanana and Dofa on the route from Ternate, while local road transport links the airport to nearby villages. Together these options make the airport a practical gateway to Mangole Island and the wider Sula Islands.
