About Malmö Airport
Malmö Airport is the international airport serving Malmö and the surrounding Skåne region in southern Sweden. Opened in 1972, it was known as Malmö-Sturup Airport until 2007 and replaced the city's earlier Bulltofta Airport.
Located in Svedala Municipality, roughly 30 km east of central Malmö, the airport handles a mix of low-cost, charter and domestic services, including regular links from Wizz Air and Ryanair as well as a domestic route to Stockholm Bromma. It functions as a convenient regional alternative to the larger Copenhagen Airport across the Öresund.
The airport operates a single passenger terminal, keeping arrivals, departures and onward travel close together. Coaches to Malmö Central Station take around 40–45 minutes, and taxis, rental cars and private transfers provide further connections to Lund, Copenhagen and destinations throughout Skåne.
With restaurants, cafés, shops, free Wi-Fi and car rental desks within the terminal, Malmö Airport offers a compact and straightforward experience for travellers arriving in or departing from southern Sweden.
