Lloydminster Airport is a municipally operated regional airport serving Lloydminster, a city that straddles the Alberta–Saskatchewan border, and the surrounding agricultural and energy-producing region. Built in 1981 to replace an earlier airfield, it is the largest airport in the area and is located entirely within Alberta.
The airport sits approximately 4 km northwest of the city centre and is reached by road through the city’s truck route. It has a single passenger terminal and two runways, including an asphalt primary runway that supports both visual and instrument flight rules, along with facilities for fuel, aircraft maintenance and ground handling.
Lloydminster Airport serves scheduled and charter air travel as well as corporate, medical, training and general aviation activity across a wide prairie catchment. It has provided connections to Calgary and remains a practical gateway for business travel and regional access.
