About Landivisiau Air Base
Landivisiau Air Base is a French naval aviation base located near the town of Landivisiau in Finistère, Brittany. Known by its ICAO code LFRJ and the name BAN Landivisiau, it primarily supports the French Navy's carrier-borne fighter aviation rather than regular commercial passenger services.
The base was inaugurated on 1 February 1965 and has since operated as a key home for naval fighter squadrons, including Rafale Marine units. It sits roughly 5 to 6 km from Landivisiau and about 30 km from Brest, serving the wider Finistère and Brittany region.
Because it is a military airfield, access is restricted and there are no standard airline terminals. Authorized and private flights are handled by prior arrangement, while nearby towns provide accommodation and onward travel options by road and rail.
Road connections link the area to Brest, Morlaix and coastal destinations in Brittany, making the base an important aviation site in the region rather than a conventional public gateway.
