La Roche-sur-Yon Les Ajoncs Airport (EDM)

La Roche-sur-Yon Les Ajoncs Airport is the main airfield serving La Roche-sur-Yon and the Vendée department in western France. Created in the 1930s and modernised from the 1980s, it is also known as René Couzinet Airport and focuses on business aviation, private charters, leisure flying and specialist operations rather than regular scheduled services.

Located about 5 km northeast of the city centre, the airport has a single paved runway and a parallel grass runway, together with a compact passenger terminal. It can receive aircraft of up to around 72 seats and is widely used during major regional events such as the Vendée Globe yacht race.

The terminal provides a business aviation reception area, passenger lounge, meeting rooms, a restaurant, free Wi-Fi and accessible facilities, while free on-site car parking keeps arrival and departure simple. Since 2019 the airport has held border crossing point status, allowing approved direct international flights, including non-Schengen arrivals such as those from the United Kingdom.

Road connections make it quick to reach central La Roche-sur-Yon, local business zones and Vendée coastal resorts, with taxis, pre-arranged transfers, rental cars and the Impulsyon bus network available for onward travel. Nantes Atlantique Airport lies roughly 45 minutes to the north for travellers who need scheduled commercial flights.
