L'Alpe d'Huez – Henri Giraud Altiport is a small mountain airfield serving the Alpe d'Huez ski resort in the Grandes Rousses massif of the French Alps. Opened on 20 August 1968, it was later named in honour of Henri Giraud, the pioneering mountain pilot who helped shape the rules for flying in the mountains.
Located about 2 km from the resort centre near the Les Bergers commercial area, the altiport is restricted to light aircraft and helicopters. Its short, sloping asphalt runway is roughly 448 metres long and is used mainly for private flights, scenic flights, mountain training and helicopter transfers rather than large scheduled commercial traffic.
The altiport sits at an altitude of about 1,812 metres at the runway threshold and provides a convenient arrival point for visitors heading to the slopes and accommodation of Alpe d'Huez. From the airfield, the resort centre can be reached quickly by car, taxi or arranged private transfer.
