Kugluktuk Airport is a small regional airport serving Kugluktuk, a community at the mouth of the Coppermine River in western Nunavut. It is operated by the Government of Nunavut and provides an essential scheduled air link for residents and visitors in a region with limited ground transportation.
Located about 2 km from the town centre, the airport has a single gravel runway and a modern passenger terminal that opened in 2025. The new terminal replaced an older building and added a larger waiting area, airline offices and improved baggage handling space.
The airport primarily supports regional flights operated by Canadian North to destinations such as Cambridge Bay, Yellowknife and Ulukhaktok. These connections allow travelers to continue to other Nunavut communities and larger centres in northern Canada.
On the ground, passengers can reach Kugluktuk by taxi, local vehicle or pre-arranged transfer, with the town centre only a short drive from the terminal. As a remote northern gateway, the airport plays a key role in moving people, goods and essential services into the community.
