Juan Vicente Gómez International Airport serves San Antonio del Táchira in the state of Táchira, in Venezuela's Andean west. The airport has a long history and is considered one of the country's oldest airfields; it was renamed in June 1993 in honour of Juan Vicente Gómez, the Venezuelan president from Táchira.
The airport sits close to the Colombia–Venezuela border, roughly 2 km from central San Antonio del Táchira, about 50 km from San Cristóbal, the Táchira state capital, and around 10 km from Cúcuta in Colombia. A single asphalt runway and a main passenger terminal handle the airport's operations.
