Invercargill Airport is the main airport serving Invercargill and the wider Southland region at the southern end of New Zealand's South Island. Established in 1944 and located just west of the city, it supports scheduled domestic flights and regular connections to Stewart Island.
The airport opened its current passenger terminal in 2016, replacing an older facility, and operates with a single main terminal for check-in, security, arrivals, and passenger services. Scheduled flights connect Invercargill with Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland, while Stewart Island Flights provides short flights to Oban on Stewart Island.
The airport is about 3 km from the Invercargill city centre, with taxi travel times of around 5–7 minutes. Rental cars, shuttles, and regional coach services provide onward connections to the city, Bluff, and other South Island destinations.
