About Hang Nadim International Airport
Hang Nadim International Airport is the main international airport serving Batam and the wider Riau Islands province of Indonesia. Located in Batu Besar, Nongsa, on the island of Batam, it is the region's largest airport and an important gateway for both domestic flights and international travel to nearby Singapore and Malaysia.
The airport began operations in January 1984 and is known for its 4,025-metre runway, the longest in Indonesia and one of the longest in Southeast Asia. Today it connects Batam with major Indonesian cities such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan and Palembang, as well as international destinations including Kuala Lumpur.
Situated roughly 17 km east of Batam city centre, the airport is reached by taxi, DAMRI bus services and private transfers, with connections to Batam Centre ferry terminal, Nagoya and the resort areas around Nongsa.
A single passenger terminal currently handles both domestic and international flights, with a second terminal planned under the airport's ongoing expansion. Travelers can find food outlets, shops, currency exchange, ATMs, free Wi-Fi and a lounge within the terminal complex.
