Grenoble Alpes Isère Airport is the main international airport serving Grenoble and the surrounding Isère and Savoie regions of the French Alps. Opened in 1968, it has become a popular winter gateway for skiers and snowboarders, with much of its commercial traffic concentrated between December and April.
Located approximately 40 km northwest of central Grenoble, near Saint-Étienne-de-Saint-Geoirs, the airport provides seasonal connections to destinations across Europe and serves both leisure travellers and those heading to the region's major ski resorts, including Alpe d'Huez, Les Deux Alpes and Chamrousse.
The airport operates from a single, compact passenger terminal that keeps departures, arrivals, baggage reclaim and transport links within a short walking distance. It is managed by VINCI Airports and was renamed Grenoble Alpes Isère Airport as part of a rebranding programme.
