General José Francisco Bermúdez Airport is the small regional airport serving Carúpano, a Caribbean coastal city in Sucre state, northeastern Venezuela. It provides domestic air links and acts as the main gateway for the Paria Peninsula and surrounding municipalities.
The airport has more than 70 years of aviation history and was reopened in 2016 after comprehensive rehabilitation of its runway, apron and terminal. Its compact single terminal, control tower and aeronautical fire service support a 2,100-metre runway and a small aircraft apron.
Located about 2 km southwest of central Carúpano, the airport is only a short drive from the city. Travellers can continue by taxi, private transfer or rental car to Carúpano, nearby Río Caribe and other destinations along the northeastern coast.
