General Bartolomé Salom International Airport (PBL)

General Bartolomé Salom International Airport serves Puerto Cabello, a major port city in the Carabobo state of Venezuela. Opened in 1953 as an alternate airport to Maiquetía International Airport, it began operating as an international terminal in December 1967 and remains a useful access point for the central Caribbean coast.

The airport is located about 6 km west of the Puerto Cabello city centre, close to one of Venezuela's most important maritime and industrial hubs. Its single passenger terminal supports domestic and regional flights as well as general aviation and private charter operations, and its asphalt runway handles a range of smaller and medium-sized aircraft.

Ground transportation is mainly provided by local taxis and pre-arranged private transfers, with onward road connections to central Puerto Cabello and to Valencia, the state capital, roughly 45 minutes away by road. Rental cars and chartered buses are also practical options for continuing to the coast or the port area.

Facilities at the airport are basic, with a waiting area and limited café services rather than large shopping or dining areas. Travelers using PBL benefit from a compact, low-traffic terminal that is convenient for reaching Puerto Cabello, the nearby port and the surrounding Carabobo region.
