Fuerte Olimpo Airport (OLK)

Fuerte Olimpo Airport is a small public airport serving Fuerte Olimpo, the capital of Alto Paraguay Department, and one of the most remote gateway towns in the Paraguayan Chaco. It connects this river port community with other parts of Paraguay, mainly through domestic services operated by small aircraft.

The airport has a single paved runway of about 1,000 metres, which was completed and put into all-weather service around 2016 before the facility was formally inaugurated as Teniente Primero Inocencio Herebia Airport. Its passenger infrastructure is basic, with a compact terminal area rather than the multi-terminal layout found at larger airports.

Located roughly 1.5 km from the centre of Fuerte Olimpo and close to the Paraguay River, the airport is reached by local taxis, private transfers and the town's road network. Longer overland journeys to Concepción and Asunción follow the Transchaco route, while the river provides an important alternative connection for the region.

Because facilities at the airport itself are limited, most services such as food, shops and accommodation are found in the town centre. The airport remains an important practical link for residents, medical transfers and travellers visiting this remote part of northern Paraguay.
