About Fort Good Hope Airport
Fort Good Hope Airport is a small regional airport serving Fort Good Hope, a fly-in community on the Mackenzie River in the Sahtu Region of the Northwest Territories. It provides an essential air link for passengers, freight and community services in a part of Canada with limited road access.
Located about 2 km southwest of the community centre, the airport has a single gravel runway and a compact passenger terminal. Regional flights are operated by carriers such as North-Wright Airways, connecting Fort Good Hope with Norman Wells, Yellowknife and Colville Lake.
Because Fort Good Hope has no year-round all-season road connection, the airport plays a central role in daily travel, medical appointments and supplies. Ground transport within the community is limited, and visitors are advised to arrange taxi or transfer services in advance.
For travelers, the airport offers a simple and functional arrival and departure experience suited to a small northern community, with basic waiting facilities and direct access to the short drive into town.
