Figari Sud-Corse Airport is the main air gateway to southern Corsica and the Corse-du-Sud department of France. It opened in 1975 and is located about 3 km northwest of the small commune of Figari, roughly 25 km from Porto-Vecchio and 21 km from Bonifacio. As the third largest airport on Corsica, it plays a key role in connecting the island's southern coast with mainland France and seasonal European destinations. The single terminal handles domestic flights and seasonal international services operated by carriers such as Air Corsica, Air France, easyJet, Volotea and Ryanair. The airport primarily serves leisure travellers heading to Porto-Vecchio, Bonifacio and the beaches and coastal resorts of southern Corsica, including Palombaggia and Santa Giulia. Its compact terminal keeps check-in, security, departures and arrivals close together. Ground transport includes taxis, shuttle buses to Porto-Vecchio, car rental desks at the terminal, and road access via the T40 and D859, making onward travel to nearby towns and beaches straightforward. There is no rail connection on the island.
