Feramin Airport (FRQ) is a small rural airstrip serving Feramin village in the remote Star Mountains area of Sandaun Province, Papua New Guinea. It provides an essential air connection for the Telefomin District, where ground access has historically been difficult.
Located at an elevation of about 1,419 metres (4,655 feet), the airstrip has a single grass and brown-clay runway roughly 660 metres long and is used mainly by light aircraft and charter flights linking the district with regional centres such as Tabubil and Kiunga.
The airstrip lies close to Feramin village. Since 2025, the Tabubil–Telefomin Highway has provided a road connection toward Tabubil and the Ok Tedi area, making pre-arranged 4WD transfers the most practical way to continue overland.
Facilities at the airport are minimal, and the airstrip primarily supports local communities, government and mission travel, and mining-related movements rather than mainstream tourism. Travellers should confirm flights, road conditions and onward transport in advance.
