About Évreux-Fauville Air Base
Évreux-Fauville Air Base is a military airfield operated by the French Air and Space Force near Évreux in Normandy. It serves the city and the wider Eure department, functioning primarily as a military installation rather than a commercial airport.
Aviation activity at the site dates back to 1912–1913, when Évreux opened an early aviation station. The airfield was developed during the First World War, used as a civil flying school before the Second World War, and later expanded under German occupation. After the war the base supported Allied and NATO operations before French forces established the current base aérienne 105 in 1967.
Located about six kilometres east of central Évreux in the communes of Fauville, Gauciel and Huest, the base covers a large site with a runway of about 3,000 metres. It hosts French and German units and is among the larger military airfields in France.
Road access is available via the D955 and the nearby N13, with Évreux-Normandie railway station about seven kilometres from the base and onward connections by taxi, private transfer or rental car.
