About Depati Amir Airport
Depati Amir Airport is the main domestic gateway serving Pangkal Pinang, the capital of the Bangka Belitung Islands province, and the wider Bangka Island area. It connects the island with major cities across Indonesia and supports tourism, business and regional travel.
The current terminal building was completed in January 2017 and officially inaugurated in 2019, giving the airport a larger, modern passenger terminal of around 12,000 square metres. The airport also has a 2,600-metre runway and an apron able to handle aircraft such as the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320.
Located about 5 km from central Pangkal Pinang, within the Central Bangka area, the airport is reached by taxi, private transfer, rental car and road links, making onward travel to the city centre relatively quick and straightforward.
Inside the single terminal, check-in, security, arrivals, dining, shopping, a lounge and other passenger services are combined in one building, helping visitors continue to hotels, beaches and destinations across Bangka Island.
