About Dabo Singkep Airport
Dabo Singkep Airport is the main airport serving Dabo, the largest town on Singkep Island, in the Lingga Regency of Indonesia's Riau Islands Province. As a domestic airport, it connects this island community with key regional centres across Sumatra and the Riau Islands.
The airport was first built in 1930 during the Dutch colonial period and was later taken over by Japanese forces during the Second World War, who used it as a logistics and military base. In 1972, following the establishment of PT Timah, the company took over the airport and its infrastructure for broader regional use. Today, the airport is managed as a Class III facility by Indonesia's Ministry of Transportation.
The airport operates a single passenger terminal with a runway measuring approximately 1,300 metres. Scheduled and pioneer flights, mainly operated by Susi Air and Wings Air, link Dabo Singkep with Batam, Tanjung Pinang, Pekanbaru, Jambi and Tanjung Balai Karimun.
Located about 3 km from Dabo town centre, the airport is reached quickly by taxi, private transfer or local road transport. Ferries from Singkep Island provide onward connections to other parts of the Riau Islands, making the airport a practical gateway for island residents and visitors.
