Cyril E. King Airport is the main airport serving St. Thomas and a key gateway to the U.S. Virgin Islands, connecting the island with destinations across the U.S. mainland and the Caribbean. The airport was originally known as Harry S. Truman Airport and was renamed in 1984 in honor of Cyril E. King, the second elected governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands.
A modern passenger terminal opened in November 1990, replacing earlier facilities and creating a single terminal complex with 11 gates, including a commuter wing used primarily for interisland flights between St. Thomas and St. Croix. The airport also operates a main runway of about 7,000 feet.
Located on the southwestern side of St. Thomas near Lindbergh Bay, the airport sits roughly 3 to 4 miles from Charlotte Amalie along Route 30.
