About Creil Air Base
Creil Air Base is a military airfield near Creil in the Oise department of Hauts-de-France, about 50 km north of Paris. The site traces its aviation history to 1938, when it was used as a grass airfield for local tourism and as a diversion aerodrome for the Paris region.
After the Second World War, the French Air Force redeveloped the site, and the modern base opened as Base Aérienne 110 on 1 June 1954. For decades it supported military aviation in northern France, while the airfield remained open to national military traffic and, with restrictions, to civil aircraft operating under visual flight rules.
The military aeronautical platform was deactivated in 2016, and the base has since evolved into an inter-service site known as the Pôle interarmées de Creil-Senlis. There are no scheduled commercial flights, so most travelers to the region use Paris Charles de Gaulle or Beauvais airports and continue by road or rail.
Creil station lies close to the site and offers train services to Paris Gare du Nord in around 30 minutes, while local roads connect the airfield with Creil, Chantilly, Senlis, Compiègne, and the wider motorway network. The location makes the area a practical base for exploring the Oise and reaching the French capital.
